Thoughts for the day.......
We are what we repeatedly do. EXCELLENCE....therefore is not an act but
a habit." Aristotle
In my strength, I discovered my weakness. But in my weakness, I found
my strength.
Every sixty seconds you spend angry, upset or mad, is a full minute of happiness you'll never get back.

A tree for all seasons........
My sweet husband who first gave me the amazing idea to add his 'snow tree' pic to my blog took a picture today of the same tree in all its greenery. The 'tree' has now become my seasonal picture for my blog. Thank you darlin'. Can't wait to see my autumn tree!

Thought for the day.....
Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.

Fun Birthday Trivia: A person's Golden or Grand Birthday, more commonly referred to as their "Lucky Birthday", "Champagne Birthday" or "Star Birthday", occurs when they turn the age of their birth day (e.g., when someone born on the 25th of the month turns 25).

A thought for the day.....
I want to share an excerpt from a talk by Elder M. Russell Ballard . He said, referring to Author Anna Quindlen, "The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make. … I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of [my three children] sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages six, four, and one. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less" (Loud and Clear [2004], 10–11).
I want to live in the moment...so thankful for this reminder.

A Mother's Love
Mother Love
Lie still, dear birdie,
In cradle nest;
The gentle breeze rocketh thee
Softly to rest.
Thy father is singing thee
Sweetly to sleep,
While thy mother her little ones
Safely doth keep.
Sleep peacefully, Baby,
The Spring's come to you;
The grass is a carpet
Of violets blue;
The birds are all singing thee
Softly to rest;
But the love of a mother
Is sweetest and best.
Lie still, dear birdie,
In cradle nest;
The gentle breeze rocketh thee
Softly to rest.
Thy father is singing thee
Sweetly to sleep,
While thy mother her little ones
Safely doth keep.
Sleep peacefully, Baby,
The Spring's come to you;
The grass is a carpet
Of violets blue;
The birds are all singing thee
Softly to rest;
But the love of a mother
Is sweetest and best.

A thought for the new year.....
Feed Your Brain—Read a Book! The average millionaire reads a book a month, but most Americans haven’t read a non-fiction book cover to cover since high school. Charlie Tremendous Jones used to say that, five years from now, you’ll be the exact same person you are today except for the books you read and the people you meet. So, who do you want to be in five years? Find some books that will take you there.
