Kids made a speedy recovery from the flu this weekend. Josh felt pretty good for his 6th birthday party with family tonight. Check out the pics. Silly string is daddys fav thing for the guys, and the surprised look is Josh learning we bought him a gift certificate for the International Star Registry and he gets to name a star. We 'looked' at it before bed....needless to say he was thrilled! Now the grown ups have head colds....

This card is for a Bo Bunny challenge, I just LOVE their products. The challenge did seem to lend itself to scrapbooking. So I'm not sure if this is an odd shaped card, small scrapbook page, or the makings for a shadow box project I want to do, lol. But I do like how it came out. Have a wonderful day!!

I purchased this Philosophy gift set from QVC, they have exclusive Philosophy items, super sizes etc. so if you are looking for that brand start there, and its sooo sweet looking. Comes with 4 yummy smelling body products, body wash +++........Its going to make a wonderful Christmas gift or a cool GIVE-A-WAY........more on that to come!! I must try and make a card like this. Dee
I made this after seeing a fav blogger post one, aren't they cute! Folks seem to like these, and buy them up! So I will be coming up with a few more ideas for the craft show I mentioned on Dec 3. I have had requests for dog groomer gifts, hair dresser gifts, teacher gifts etc. These things pile up so it's nice to have an outlet for my madness LOL. And gifts for the upcoming holidays. Take care, Dee

The folks over at Sugar Nellie are having another fab challenge with a mystery surprise for the winner.....I'm thankful for all of the folks in the military around the world today, being Veteran's Day here in the U.S., and always. We may not agree with the reason they are where they are but they give their all and we need to support them!!
Funny how people come in and out of our lives each and every day. Family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances, strangers.......we pass by countless folks every day without even knowing where they are coming from or where they are going. I believe everything leaves an impression on us, whether its a certain scent bringing back fond memories,a song evoking an emotion, or a news story that really touches us. I don't know this little boy but now I will never forget him!! Maybe because it was very late last night when I read this on a fav blog, maybe because I have a 5 year old son, maybe because I'm human and can't comprehend why children have to suffer, but I believe, I believe God has it all under control, as God gave us HIS only son..PLEASE take a moment to read Noah's story maybe say a prayer for him and his family and if you can send a Christmas card to Noah it is all he is requesting for his LAST Christmas here........caution its a real sniffy...I made this one to send....

For more years than I can remember we have trekked to the foot hills of the Adirondack mountains and hiked up the mile or so to 9 Cornered Lake. Its such a beautiful place. The hiking is wonderful. Although it seems longer each year!! The weather was PERFECT. We went a little later in the season than we usually go so the leaves were already off the trees but the scenery was just spectacular. We hike over 2 or 3 small wooden foot bridges on the way up to the lake, the kids stop and check out everything the woods has to offer them. Including the SNOW, that had been preserved in the slats of one of the shaded bridges, from the very cold nights in the woods this time of year. You would have thought the boys found GOLD. They noticed twisted trees, trees growing intertwined, trees growing out of rocks, moss on the trees and rocks, AND THE MUD! The glorious, wonderful, best appreciated by little boys MUD and foot prints from the folks ahead of us, but they MUST have been bear paws Josh concluded, lol.
My husband has fond memories of his grandfather and Uncle taking him and his brother to the Lake growing up. He and I camped on that point on the Lake when were were dating and now we have been bringing our children there. Ah tradition nothing like it...........do you have a favorite? Enjoy the photos, oh and the walking stick we brought for my husbands uncle.....well a pic says a thousand words! Here is the card we gave him with the walking stick. The stick is made out of bamboo and is a flute and has a compass on the end, who knew! Thanks to the wonderful folks who sold us the stick and express shipped it from Massachusates.
